- India’s largest IT Park is on an expansion mode and will have a
built-up area of 5 million Sq. ft. by 2009. It is estimated that more than
40,000 professionals will be working at Technopark by 2010.
- Phase 3 development of Technopark
- Will be implemented as an IT/ITES Special Economic Zone, spread over
92 acres of land.
- Development of 40 acres of the SEZ will be through a private
developer managed Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).

- This 507 acre project envisages the creation of a self-contained IT
township spread across 500 acres.
- In addition to IT, other focus areas will be biotechnology,
nanotechnology, high-end manufacturing and R&D.
- The entire project will be developed through multiple Special Purpose
Vehicles (SPV’s) in association with leading developers.
- Major IT/ITES and knowledge companies can move in and set up their
units.

- Ambalapuzha located in Alappuzha district in the state of Kerala, has been
chosen as the second location for setting up of IT park after Cherthala. It
is 72 km from Cochin and 18 km from Alleppey on the Alleppey-to-Trivandrum
section of National Highway 47 Road Route and Railway Route. An extent of
100 acres of land at Purakkad village, Ambalapuzha Taluk under the Gandhi
Smrithivanam Scheme has been earmarked for the project. Developments are
based on a Public Private Participation model similar to the proposed one at
Cherthala.
- The new Infopark at Ambalapuzha has also
been granted formal approval for Special Economic Zone status by the BoA,
Ministry of Commerce.

- Cherthala is a Taluk and a municipality in Alappuzha district in the state
of Kerala, India. It is 36 km from Cochin and 22 km from Alleppey on the
Cochin-to-Alleppey section of National Highway 47 Road Route and Railway
Route. Infopark has 66.62 acres of land at Pallipuram for setting up the IT
park. Developments are based on a Public Private Participation model.
- As on date Infopark at Cherthala has been granted formal approval for
Special Economic Zone status by the BoA, Ministry of Commerce.

- Koratty located in Trissur district has also been chosen for the
setting up of an IT park in the 30 acres of Government land at Muringoor
Thekkukuri village of Mukundapuram Taluk, similar to Cherthala and
Ambalapuzha. The site is very near to NH47 between Angamaly and
Chalakudy and the distance from Cochin Airport is only 16 Km.
Development is planned in a PPP model.
